Happy New Year! We hope you had a great holiday. It was a time to slow down, share family moments and begin a few new traditions in our home. We all loved our real Christmas tree with its fresh smell and twinkling decorations. On Monday, the Three Kings make a visit to bring special “frivolous” gifts to be left in Livia’s shoes!!
We are especially keen to get back to work. Teaching tango allows us to tap into a special creative energy and share it with all of our students. We are grateful for your support and cannot wait to see how each one of you grows on your tango journey.
All of our regular classes begin again this week, starting tomorrow:
Saturdays (beginning January 4th) in Toronto: This drop-in class starts at 8:15pm; all levels welcome and each gets the special attention it needs. This is a great place to take your first ever Argentine tango class in Toronto. The class is followed by a milonga. (Location: 3rd floor, 95 Danforth Ave, near Broadview @ the Joy of Dance Studio; cost is $18 p.p. and includes the milonga afterward).
Sundays (beginning January 5th) in Waterloo: This is the double-whammy class! Join us for one class or two. The 7pm class focuses on tango, while the 8pm class switches tempo to work on milonga and vals rhythms. We are in a new industrial-chic studio (182 Weber St.N, behind A to Z rentals) with lots of free parking. (Cost: $90 p.p. for a 6 week session; drop-in: $25 for two classes in one night. See the Kitchener-Waterloo page for all the details.)
Mondays (beginning January 6th) in Hamilton: Have you been dancing for awhile? This Intermediate class is the one to try. This 75 minute class incorporates new elements to create innovative figures and helps you to strengthen your own improvisational abilities. Join us at 7pm at the Ballroom on Wellington (15 Wellington St. N). Check out the Hamilton page for complete directions as getting to the studio can be a little tricky.
Wednesdays (beginning January 8th) in Hamilton: Our beginner class is a great place to take your first Argentine tango steps or to build on your basic tango experience. This 75 minute class allows for learning and practice; no partner or previous experience is necessary. Most of our students come on their own and partners are rotated frequently throughout the class. For all the details, visit the Hamilton page. This class is held at the Ballroom on Wellington and starts at 7pm.
Thursdays (beginning January 9th) in Toronto: Join us for 90 minutes of classic and creative tango suitable for beginner and intermediate students. Every Thursday at 8:15pm in the delightful Swansea Town Hall Community Centre (95 Lavinia Ave, walking distance from the Runnymede Subway Station). For more details, visit the Classes in Toronto page here.
Fridays (starting January 17th) in Burlington: Join us every 3rd (or 4th) Friday of the month for an evening of Argentine tango and ballroom dancing. The Argentine tango class starts at 7:30pm and is following by open dancing to a variety of musical rhythms including Argentine tango, ballroom and nightclub at the Burlington Social Club. See all the details here.
